Music is part of our effort to help with spiritual and emotional healing for children of war and their families. We are blessed to partner with Lviv Central Baptist Church in 2 projects for children called “Wave Music School” and “Colibri Soccer Club”. Both of them offer to help children develop their talents and receive spiritual and emotional healing at the same time.
Many of us hear the phrase: “Music can heal the wounds that medicine cannot touch”. It is true that music pleases us and releases our suffering. It can calm us down and pump us up. It helps us manage pain and be more resilient in the face of life’s challenges.
In 2022, Lviv Central Baptist Church had opened the door for the first students. The project, Christian Wave Music School, which started in the midst of war, has endured all the atrocities of war, electricity shortages, and constant air raid sirens, yet continues to fulfill its mission of bringing the healing power of music to the hearts and souls of those affected by the war. Despite these challenges, the Christian Wave Music School remains a beacon of hope. The school provides not only musical education but also a sense of normalcy, community, and spiritual healing for children and adults alike. Through the dedication of its teachers and the resilience of its students, the school perseveres, offering a space where creativity, faith, and healing come together, even in the darkest of times.
At Wave Christian Music School, we nurture the musical talents of children aged 6-16, offering expert instruction in drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano, vocals, and violin. Our classes are designed to inspire and equip young musicians with the skills and confidence to express their creativity and passion for music.
The school also provides group lessons: Solfege, to give children a solid musical foundation, and Band, where students can immediately apply their knowledge in practice and play together. Beyond quality education, we focus on contemporary music, improvisation, and fostering meaningful relationships with students. We aspire to elevate the level of music in Ukraine through this generation. The school encourages active learning, with children frequently performing at concerts and participating in church worship. This hands-on experience helps students gain confidence, develop stage presence, and apply their musical skills in real-world settings. By integrating performances into their education, the school not only nurtures musical talent but also instills a sense of community and purpose in the students.
