During the last several months, volunteers from Lviv Hope Center have helped and established relationships with many refugees who are now staying in Lviv, Ukraine. Each person and family has their unique story of what they went through and how they got to Lviv. Many have left their homes and fled because russians occupied their cities and villages. Some of them have lost everything because their house got destroyed by enemies, rockets, and bombs. Some have lost their loved ones on a battlefield or were killed by russian soldiers only for speaking Ukrainian or having pro-Ukrainian positions.
Those who were able to leave now face a new reality – how to start a new life in a new place practically without anything on their hands. Many Internally Displaced People are multi-children families (meaning they have 3+ kids). Some are single-parent families because their dads or moms serve in the Army or are not alive anymore. Some families have children in a wheelchair with disabilities. Their situation is hardened because at least someone must always be next to the child.
Some refugees rent apartments with their friends; others live in tiny module houses the government provides.
That is why humanitarian help, special care, and support volunteers provide to IDPs are crucial.
Our goal: Provide special care and support for 200 families monthly through our local team of volunteers.
