The Colibri Soccer Club is more than just abuour sports; it is a testament to our Christian commitment to serving and uplifting children who have endured the hardships of war. Through the love of soccer and the teachings of our faith, the club provides not only a sense of normalcy but also a spiritual refuge. It fosters teamwork, builds a supportive community, and integrates Christian values into every aspect of its activities. As part of Lviv Central Baptist Church’s broader humanitarian and evangelical efforts, the program is dedicated to helping children heal emotionally and spiritually, offering them both physical activity and faith-based support that promotes well-being, resilience, and a deeper connection to their faith in Christ.
The goal of the club is to be a platform of emotional, physical, and spiritual support for children and families who are experiencing the injustice of war.
“The “Colibri” club is designed for kids aged 5-14. Players train at a soccer field next to LCBC church with a team of Christian coaches. They share with kids and teens about Jesus Christ through the sport of soccer; bring healing and support through mentoring relationships and spiritual guidance.
The head coach of the team, Volodya, and his team, are passionate about using soccer as a tool to bring hope and healing to the children of war. The Colibri Soccer Club provides a safe space for children to play, learn, and grow both physically and spiritually. Through the love of the game and compassionate coaching, Volodya is able to reach these young hearts and share the message of Christ’s love and redemption.
