Mission

From the first days of the war, we have partnered with many Ukrainian Christians and local leaders in shared humanitarian initiatives throughout Ukraine. Thanks to your generous donations and the network of volunteers, we managed to minister and provide critical humanitarian aid to tens of thousands of people throughout Ukraine.

As a result, over the past two years, Ukraine on Mission, along with its partners and volunteers, has been able to:

• Provide housing to over 5,986 families
• Feed 53,250 people
• Deliver over 107 tons of humanitarian aid to 9 regions of Ukraine
• Provide clothing and medical help to over 10,213 people
• Provide Scholarships to over 30 children.
• Distribute over 1500 packages with food and hygiene

Our ministry is currently focused on the following groups of people:

• Internally Displaced Families, Orphans, and People with Disabilities: Providing essential humanitarian aid, care, and support while sharing the love and message of Jesus Christ.
• War Veterans with Disabilities: Offering rehabilitation initiatives, counseling, and resources to veterans who have been injured or affected by the current war in Ukraine, coupled with spiritual support and the peace found in Christ.
• Christian Leaders and Evangelical Churches: Supporting pastors, church leaders, and congregations in their missional and humanitarian efforts to extend the reach of the Gospel.

Our partners and volunteers in Ukraine are devoted to offering essential humanitarian support to thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs), while also building meaningful, Christ-centered relationships with those who have suffered because of the war.

OUR 3 PILLARS:  

1. Basic Physical Assistance: Through our partners,supported churches, and volunteers we provide temporary shelter, food boxes, warm clothing, and hygiene supplies to address the urgent needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs). Many are struggling to meet their families’ essential material needs. Being there for them is a core part of our mission (Matt. 25:35-45).

2. Services for Social Adaptation: In collaboration with our partners we offer educational training and facilitate connections with the local church. IDPs and other war victims are invited to participate in various meetings and events tailored to different ages, genders, and interests. Beyond the daily challenges, many face spiritual and emotional emptiness. As most are not born-again Christians, they benefit from biblical counseling provided by our volonteers.
Additionally, we offer scholarships for children to participate in various programs, which serve as therapeutic and spiritual healing avenues.

By providing spaces for sharing experiences and forming new relationships, we help people to adapt more quickly and build resilience. Local Christians are also invited to participate, fostering deeper connections and support networks.

3. The Good News about Jesus Christ. The third pillar is sharing the message of Hope we have found in Jesus Christ. People are very open to hearing about Jesus Christ at all our events or personal meetings. But the best way to share the Good News is through a personal approach and relationships. Although we invite them to join our special small groups to study the Scriptures, we understand that the more our volunteers intentionally communicate the true meaning of repentance and God’s love, the more successful we will be in exercising all three pillars.

OUR STRATEGY

Since the beginning of the war, along with our partners and volunteers, we have assisted thousands of refugees by providing food, clothing, and shelter. Our partners delivered dozens of tons of humanitarian aid across various regions in Ukraine. As the conflict and the needs of the people have evolved, we’ve recognized that our ministry is not just a sprint but a marathon.

Just as Jesus’ ministry reached both large crowds and individuals, with His approach of guiding 70, 12, and 3 disciples, we aim to address both the physical and spiritual needs of those we serve. This model inspires us as we continue our work, offering support and hope to those in need.

• On “level “70” we help IDPs and local leaders with their basic needs: Food, clothing, hygiene items, etc. We help organize large social events where they can form a new network of friends in a new city. We offer special training classes and possibilities to join our church activities for kids, teens, youth, and families.
• On “level 12” we help our volunteers to form closer relationships with families with special needs, such as Internally Displaced Families, Orphans, and People with Disabilities, War Veterans with Disabilities, and others. We provide specific help to them monthly and keep in touch with them to know their needs better. We also invite refugees to join us in Small Bible groups next to our partner churches. Local Small Groups are the place where Internally Displaced Families, Orphans, and People with Disabilities, War Veterans with Disabilities get to know people from our Christian community, to learn more about the Bible and Jesus Christ.
• On “level 3” we connect Christian leaders with refugees individually by offering counseling, friendship, and personal support to those who express their desire and need for mentorship and help. We partner with local Christians on that level.

Through this multi-level approach, we strive to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of those we serve, and to empower local christian leaders to continue to offer hope and support to many in these challenging times in Ukraine.
